View lush forest, historic neighborhoods, and even a medieval fortress
Leave crowded tour buses behind and and board a comfy, air-conditioned vehicle that will bring you to the first stop of your day trip.
Your tour starts at Arnavutkoy. Located on the shoreline of the Bosphorus Strait, Arnavutkoy is home to many historic buildings, Ottoman mansions, and quaint restaurants. Up next is the Rumeli Fortress. This medieval fortress was commissioned by the Ottoman Sultan Mehmet II in the mid-1400s as part of his campaign to capture Constantinople. It took more than 3,000 people to build this massive fortress in just four months!
After marveling at the impressive Rumeli Fortress, you’ll head to the Ataturk Arboretum. This tranquil oasis in the northern part of the city is every nature lover's dream. With serene lakes and almost 2,000 different kinds of flora from all over the world. The last stop of the day is Belgrad Forest. This deciduous forest is known as one of the greenest places in the city and you can spend the rest of the afternoon picnicking in the forest grounds.
