Gürkan Turizm started carrying passengers to the villages of Istanbul and Izmit in 1963. BMC trucks were used in the first voyages. Founded by Yakup Gürkan in 1963, the company started intercity transportation by purchasing Ford trucks in 1969. By 1970, he converted 63 Man buses into 302 Mercedes. Then, it increased the number of trips by adding vehicles such as the 62 model Volvo to its fleet. In addition, it started to provide private transfer services.
