Some people set out on the road to explore many parts of the world and see things they have never seen before. Their relentless journeys cause them to be known as travelers as time passes. Marca Polo, a pioneer of many travelers who came after him, managed to become famous thanks to his observations. This name, who has been a traveler for many years, managed to discover the unknown aspects of the east. Marco Polo made his first trip while he was with his father. On this trip, Polo, who was still very young, examined the culture of every place he went. As a result of this review, he transferred only half of his observations to the book.

Evliya Çelebi

When it comes to travellers, one of the first names that comes to mind is Evliya Çelebi. Born in Kütahya in 1611, Çelebi is the traveler of the century. Evliya Çelebi is a traveler who became famous in many parts of the world. For this reason, it has a very special place in both Turkish and World history. Çelebi, who lived in the palace, decided to become a traveler after a dream he had.
Starting his journey from Istanbul, Çelebi followed the routes of Armenia, Bulgaria, Transylvania, the Baltic countries, Austria and Jerusalem. Apart from these, he visited many other countries and cities. Çelebi, who devoted his life to travel, compiled these travels into a book.

Christopher Columbus

Christopher Columbus was a traveler who was born around 1450. This person, who was unlucky in terms of travelling, set out on a journey in 1492. He used 3 Spanish ships for this journey. Columbus, who thought that the place he found during his journey was India, was not aware that he had discovered the Antilles Islands.
In fact, Columbus, who discovered the American Continent, misunderstood where this place was throughout his life. For this reason, he is considered a very unlucky traveler. This traveler, who has been traveling since the age of 14, has managed to visit various parts of the world. He sometimes used merchant ships for these trips.

Magellan

Magellan's purpose in travel was to find a new way of spices. Magellan, who set out on a journey for this purpose, obtained the necessary permissions before starting the trip. Magellan, who could only travel in the spring months, took many helpers with him on these trips. He discovered a strait connecting the Atlantic Ocean and the Pacific Ocean.
This discovery caused Magellan to become a very famous traveler. He gave his name to the strait he found. During the trip, he was attacked by the Philippines and lost his life there. Magellan, who has a special importance because he traveled around the world, also enabled the discovery of various living species.

Ibn Battuta

Born in Maghrib, Ibn Batuta is among the famous travelers. His birth year is known as 1304. This person, who spent more than half of his life on the roads, started his trip with Cairo. Later, he visited the cities of Mecca, Tabriz and Baghdad.
Then he traveled around East Africa using the Indian Ocean. After his trip to East Africa, he turned his route to Anatolia. He reached Crimea using Anatolia, and then traveled to the Maldives and China. After these trips, he came back to Anatolia. He shared his travels in his book Seyahatname.

Amerigo Vespucci

Amerigo Vespucci was born on March 9, 1454. His birthplace is Florence, Italy. He made the discovery of an important continent. However, he realized during his later trip that his discovery was important enough to make a splash. This name, which discovered the American continent, gave its name to that continent.
